The contrast of the lush and abundant nature a couple of hundred meters lower and the bold granite stones high up in the mountains makes the Estrelas a really interesting place to go. The vegetation is completely different and we did not had a lot of trees today where we could hide from the sun. But since this walk was quite close to the top, there was a nice fresh breeze so the temperature was lower. If you really look closely to the main picture, you might spot some patches of snow.
