A very inspiring book I recently read is:
Restoration Agriculture: Real World Permaculture for Farmers of Mark Shepard. (ISBN 9781601730350)
It is about planting trees instead of chopping them down for one year crops. The book is a mix of the writers own experience, the political and financial system and practical advise about rotating animals on a farm and what trees to plant so you can earn good money with it. The book is very inspiring also if you do not want to start your own farm.
